Where do I check-in and pick up the keys to my timeshare rental unit?
You will check-in right at the front desk at the resort you are renting. The resort will already have you in their computer system and ready to check-in just as if you were the owner. They may require an ID/Driver's License to prove you are the person using the unit. Make sure you take your confirmation letter with you to check-in just in case needed.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time for mostly all resorts is 4pm. Some Virginia Beach resorts will allow you to check-in early if you rental unit is ready/cleaned. Most of the time you can get a parking pass if you get to the resort early and you unit isn't ready while you wait for your unit to be available. The Colony Condominiums DOES NOT allow early check-in no matter the circumstances!!
Check-out time for all Virginia Beach timeshare resorts is 10am. Some resorts will allow you to pay a fee for late check-out, but that is something you would handle directly with the resort!
Are there any hidden costs? Are there other fees I am going to be charged when I check-in?
There are no hidden costs on a an owner's timeshare rental. When you use an owner's unit you DO NOT have any daily resort fees. The resort will take an imprint of your credit card at check-in and put a hold a specific amount of money on it (normally $100 or $200 depending on the resort) in case of damages. The Colony charges a $600 damage deposit at check-in! As long as nothing gets damaged in the unit while you are staying there (not including weather related, fire damage, etc. unless caused by you as the renter) then they will release the hold on those funds upon check-out or normally within 24-48 hours.
If you do valet parking the resort will charge a fee for that.
If you order room service or spend money at the bar or in the pool area for drinks and snacks those will be charged to you by the resort (if the resort has those features).
Is there housekeeping included? Do they clean my unit during my stay?
The resort housekeeping staff will clean the unit before you come in and when you leave. Some resorts, very few, offer a bi-weekly cleaning and some resorts charge a fee for that and others do not so please be sure to ask the front desk at the resort for that information. If you want daily maid service, the resort will normally charge a fee for that. The resort will normally let you switch out bath towels for clean ones during your stay if you request it.
